A few months back, I took the SPEAK stage in Farmingdale, New York.
The topic was FAMILY. Easy enough—family is my jam—but, truth? With such a broad directive, I struggled to land on my message. Without intending to, I found my way into the experience that enabled me to co-parent with faith. And I don’t mean religious faith, although for me, this experience happened in a church; rather, I’m referring to an intangible, energetic trust that the universe holds me and my people with care. A trust that has enabled me to feel less intimidated by the emotional behemoth of loving a child.
And although, from the stage, telling this story choked me up, I’m glad it exists, just in case it offers others some comfort as well.
